The Elko County Reading Council (ECRC) is a local organization whose mission is to promote literacy in the communities in which we live and work.
Membership opens the door to collaborative projects, networking, grant opportunities, family engagement, professional development, and community involvement. This year membership is FREE!

Host visiting author Brad Herzog in March 2026
Gift books to students with Christmas Book Tree
Award up to four $500 student scholarships
Provide first-time moms at Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital with a "Read to Me" kit
Give two $250 mini-grants to teachers who are ECRC members

We are pleased to welcome author Brad Herzog during Reading Week March 2-5, 2026. You can find out more about Brad by visiting his website. Brad is the author of many books including Francis and Eddie, G is for Gold Medal: An Olympics Alphabet, H is for Home Run, I Spy With My Little Eye Baseball, and Little Soccer.
Student Scholarships
The Elko County Reading Council has the wish to assist up to 4 graduating seniors with their education beyond high school. Each scholarship is in the amount of $500.00 and is non-renewable. The deadline to submit your application is Wednesday, April 1, 2026, by 5 pm (PST). Find the application here.
