Visiting Author Kim Norman
The Elko County Reading Council is privileged to have had the opportunity to host Kim Norman during Reading Week March 4-8, 2024. She presented at nine of the Elko County School District schools as well as the Elko and Spring Creek Boys and Girls Club and Mybrary. Kim is a children’s book author from Virginia. She has written over 20 books with her new book, “This Old Maine”, coming out in May. This is the first book where she has been the author and the illustrator. Check out Kim Norman Books or Facebook for more information.
Kim’s animated readings, thoughtful insights, and interactive sessions captivated the imaginations of our young minds, leaving them inspired and excited about the world of books. Her visit not only enriched students' academic experience but also fostered a love for reading that will undoubtedly have a lasting impact.
The Elko County Reading Council would like to express a heartfelt thanks to the following who were able to support us: Elko County School District, Kinross-Bald Mountain Mine, Mountain View PTA, Independence Valley PTO, Ruby Valley PTO, and TownePlace Suites Elko. Their unwavering support and generous monetary contributions made this enriching experience possible. The collaboration between the schools, community organizations, and local businesses exemplifies the power of teamwork in nurturing the educational development of our youth.
